Hi everyone.  Today we had a great turnout for VBS it was great we had the big number of six people, we tripled our count since yesterday and we are hoping that tomorrow we will have even more people.  We passed out fliers at around 1:20 and it was kinda of funny because I got stuck with one funny person and one pretty calm person, but I didn’t do hardly anything except for give the guys the fliers and one of them was the only person who went up to doors really it was a lot of fun.  We have been having a lot of fun even though most of us are running on 6 to 7 hours of sleep including me which I havev run on about 6 hours of sleep every day since we got here.  Well we are having a lot of fun here.  BYE !!!!!!! Gabe says hi He wanted me to tell you that.

Basketball camp is going great! We had 17 campers yesterday and our little half court size gym is getting pretty full. It is amazing to talk to the kids at our halftime presentations each day and realize that 3/4 of the kids have no knowlege of the Bible or Christianity. Today we are going to be talking about Jesus and the cross. Please continue to pray for my team and for the kids. We have a big end of camp deal planned for Thursday night; bounce houses, hotdogs and basketball!

Greetings from Bismarck!  It is Wednesday morning, so we are on the “downhill side” of our trip.  Roger and I have really enjoyed the kids!  We have driven to all the remote locations where VBS, basketball & softball camps, etc. are in motion.  It is great to watch our youth interact & participate with the kids that are coming to the projects.  Last night for dessert we had brownie/ice cream/cool whip sundaes and they disappeared pretty quickly!  This kids are eating just about anything we put in front of them for sure.  The number of local kids participating in our activities is growing every day, so we believe the word is getting out and God is doing a great work here.  In our “flexible” activities, we have decided to host a carnival at the Lincoln church location on Thursday night.  The local association has  inflatables, grills, popcorn popper available – so that’s all we need!  So pray for good weather & lots of young families who will come to the Lincoln church Thursday night and pray for our youth & leaders who will be working & planting the seeds for future work in Lincoln.  Take care in MO and we’ll see you in a few days!

Bethanie Swiney Senior in High School

Everyone has had a great time so far. I have had an opportunity of meeting a lot of new people and strengthening  friendships with people I have known for a long  time. Yesterday we started VBS at First Baptist Church Mandan. We  had a great turn out and a lot of fun with the kids. I got to teach the children the songs and motions and they had a great time learning them. The kids had so much fun and it was cute to watch them interact with the workers. I am looking forward to seeing all the kids again tonight. Please pray that we will have a great turn out tonight and that everything will go smoothly. I also have enjoyed opening the letters from everyone they have been very encouraging.

I was going door to door yesturday i went to this one house and there was a lady about to leave so i went and talked to and she ended up bringin 3 keds to our camp and she also spent half an hour talking to the pastor of the church and she seemed like she really wanted to join the church.

Harley Gault Freshman and Kara Roderick SENIOR!!!

Today we went with Ben S. to go door to door and hand out fliers. While we were waiting for the rain to stop Ben taught us a great way to memorize the Ten Commandments, read some passages from the Bible, and read chunks of Nancy Drew. After the rain stopped we handed out the fliers and got lost. It turns out we were like 10 feet from the park we were supposed to meet at but we went in the wrong direction. Apparently we are directionally challenged. We got back and caught the tail end of VBS at Capital Heights.  We danced, played duck duck goose, and played freeze tag with the two kids that showed up.

Preston Thompson  Youth Pastor

God is moving and working through our students.  It is awesome to see how they are changing in to servants for God.  I have been leading the Baseball/softball camp at Riverwood this week and today was awesome.  We had 25 kids show up today, that is 9 new ones from yesterday.  And by the way it has been raining both days.  God is working!  I a soo prowd of the students on my team, because the kids are not flocking to me at camp, but instead directly to them.  The seeds are being planted and God is starting to water them.  Please be in prayer that our students might see even a harvest this week.  GOD IS AWESOME!

What a great God we serve. Grand Crossings Association is being well represented by each of those who came. While they may be rivals in sports on this team they are “teammates”

Ryan Pickering   Junior in High School

Today was a prep day for our basketball ministry in Lincoln, ND. This town has about 5000 people in it and everyone knows everyone, pretty much. There is  two gas stations, one bar, and two churches. We are holding a basketball camp at Harvest Community Church of Lincoln. This town has multiple subdivisions with about two thirds of all houses having children under the age of 18 years and below. Today we handed out flyers about the camp and the newly developed church. It is great to see what God will do in this event. Please continue to pray for all our missions and to open the hearts of the kids we will meet.

Devon Schroer    Junior in High School

In our group today, we handed out fliers in a mobile home sub-division for our VBS in the park.  Tomorrow we will be making AWESOME Egiptian Headbands(also a fashionable waistband), as taught by the most amazing craft guru.  Please pray for lots of kids to guide to the Lord.

Jesse Bastian   Sophomore in High School

okay so today me and Jared where handing out fliers and we got to this one house and there was this guy that was German Baptist and he was really nice, let us go into his garage and get something to drink and we talk to him for 10 minutes or so but he didnt have any kids to go to are VBS, so we went on and me and Jared split up and took two houses and i got this one guy, i knocked on his door and he opened the door and i started what i was going to say and he shut the door right in my face, but i think we had a pretty good day getting the fliers out, i guess we will find out tomorrow, oh and devonte and payton in the same group is very intertaning… I just ask for all your prayer for everyone for the rest of the week that we reach lots of people and get Gods work out in ND..

Worship was great this morning at all of the churches.  This afternoon was spent doing door to door canvasing and outreach for the upcoming sports camps and Vacation Bible Schools.

From Jodie Penn  Adult Volunteer

Hello from Bismarck!!!  My husband, Roger, and I came along as the “camp cooks”.  So far the kids have been a tremendous help with kitchen chores, dishes & clean-up.  We brought our RV along for the trip, so we’d have a bit of “space”.  Saturday night there were two tornadoes just north of Bismarck, and it was an interesting night in the RV.  But we made it through okay, only losing a few hours of sleep!  The weather is beautiful, the kids are well behaved, and God is truly at work in Bismarck!  I am so thrilled to be part of this adventure and thanks for trusting your kids to our mission!

From Gail Pickering Adult Volunteer

Greetings from ND!  It was great being in the service this morning at Capital Height Baptist Church!  This afternoon our group passed out fliers in the subdivision where VBS will be held.  Please pray that the children will be able to attend.  It has been great getting to know everyone from the Fulton Churches.  I am very excited to see what God is going to do!!  What an awesome god we serve!!!!

From Kevin Pryor  College Freshman

For those of you who want to know about what’s going on here in Bismarck with the group, read this. For those of you who don’t want to know what is going on in Bismarck, I’m not sure why you came to the Project Bismarck blog page but ok. The ride up to this beautiful city was long and treacherous. Actually we had no problems getting here. But here’s what’s happening today. We had to get up at 7:30 this morning. I planned on running but by the time I was awake enough to care about running, it was too late to run. Evenings will have to be for running. We attended the Church Service here at Capitol Heights Baptist Church which I will say was slightly different than FBC. On the upside, I got a hug!…From a complete stranger but at least they were glad to see us =). As i’m sure you’ve already read about, we went to the community in which my group will be doing Vacation Bible School and handed out fliers to persuade children to come hang out with us in the park tomorrow! The weather here is Great. Tornadoes at night, cool and comfortable in the day. I don’t blame people for not being at home when we knocked on

their doors. Arriving back at the church we found that the church was locked, so we occupied ourselves with a game of Washers!  And now, here I sit at a table in the church while the other kids in my group are playin Uno. Thank you for taking the time to check up on us in Bismarck. Also please continue to pray for the group throughout the week.

I guess there was some rough weather this morning, including tornados north of Bismarck, we are all fine.  Roger and Jodie our gracious chefs felt it in their camper, but we all slept through it.

Enjoy worship this morning, we will enjoy worshipping with our brothers and sisters in Christ, here in North Dakota.

We made it

We arrived about 12:45 in the afternoon safely, some got more sleep on the bus than others.  We are getting ready to worship with the churches we will be ministering with tomorrow.

From Haylee Anderson Freshman

The trip up here gave us plenty of time to focus our minds on what God wants us to do. While some focused more than others all in all the bus trip was fun and very very interesting. Plenty of memories were made, most hilarious! And i can’t wait to see what God has planned for us for the rest of our time up here.

From Martin Stukenborg Youth Pastor

The bus ride went pretty well.  If you consider two and a half hours sleep good.  Cool day today, getting settled in our housing situation and having some stretch our legs and play same games at Riverwood Church.  Looking forward to tomorrow and worshipping at our four church sites.  Will be some door to door work, looking for the Lord to open some conversations and bringing a visibility to the churches.

Please keep praying for us.

Hey we are about 2 days away from leaving on our mission trip to Bismarck, ND.  Parents please visit this site daily because we hope to daily upload pictures and stories about what is going on the week we are in Bismarck.

Most importantly please pray for us, and that God would work in the lives of those we will be ministering to and with.
